multiculturalism ftw~
today we visited an Indian part of the town, cutely called “Little India”, where we visited two Indian temples and had snack in an adorable tiny Indian restaurant. that Indian English accent really is smashing!! then we briefly visited an Arabic part which was also very nice and tomorrow we’re going to check out the China Town^^

this quote has been popping in my mind several times during the past few weeks. well, I’m here now! and Singapore is amazing. The city is pretty similar to Hong Kong and Bangkok, maybe cleaner and the cityscape is more distinct. and the multiculturalism of this city is awesome! people seem to be from so many different ethnicities and there are four official languages here. LOVE IT.

Houses had thatched roofs - thick straw, piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the dogs, cats and other small animals (mice, rats, and bugs) lived in the roof.
When it rained it became slippery, and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof, hence the saying, “It’s raining cats and dogs.”
